It's about being free to live your best life regardless of what comes your way. So whether you're starting your preparedness journey or you're a seasoned pro, you're in the right place.
Welcome.
Hey everyone, it's Kellene the Preparedness Pro. I've got a great broadcast for you today. I am so excited with our guest. I have actually been chasing her down, , wanted to, finally get on her calendar, which we were able to do. We booked this [00:01:00] several months ago and I'm just tickled pink to have her here.
This is Caroline Alan. Let me tell you a little bit about her. She's what we would call a health survivor. And she is a mineral enthusiast. She's not a doctor. She comes from a school of hard knocks in terms of what she had to discover about her own health and her own physical and mental and energy everything that she needed to know to be healthy again.
We're going to hear from her story about her struggle and how she fixed it. And the nice thing is we all can fix it. We all can stop feeling sluggish and sick and have chronic sinus infections and catch the latest thing going around. So she had a journey back to health and as a result of that she did years of deep study.
It's amazing what you can do when you truly dedicate your life to something and Caroline has done that. She's become devoted to educating people about how minerals operate in the body and [00:02:00] why we need to supplement our mineral intake and the benefits of natural humic and fulvic plant based mineral substances for replenishment in the body.
She's a regular on podcasts and health focused events and programs around the world. She's the co founder and CEO of Beam Minerals. So Caroline, thank you so much for being on the show. I'm just tickled pink to have you.
Thanks so much for having me. , it's an absolute pleasure to be here.
Well, thank you.
So we've got to tell people about your transition from the corporate world to where you are now with being minerals. It's a, it's fascinating. What inspired that leap?
Caroline: You know, what happened to me was that I worked in the corporate world for many years, about 17 years. And during that time, I also had two children and it was a very stressful life.
I was a project manager in the high tech world for very large software development projects. And about I guess it was [00:03:00] about 2010. I burned out of that career and I was in extremely ill health. I had flatlined adrenals. They'd been flatlined for about two years. I worked with small children several different practitioners trying to impact just that base level issue.
I had really bad inflammation in my gut, even after being gluten free for about seven or eight years. I also had bad inflammation in my mouth with badly receding gums and bone loss and deep pockets with inflammation in my mouth. And I've been to multiple dentists trying to heal that issue. I also had recurring sinus infections.
I'd had some bad mold exposure in the mid 2005 or so that had really created this ongoing problem with sinus infections. I also have an autoimmune that , flares up once in a while depending on stress, et cetera. So, or did used to, it doesn't [00:04:00] anymore, but it used to. , so what happened was I met my now business partner, a man named Dan Howard, and he just said, Hey, why don't you try these minerals?
And he had a small company was selling these minerals and he was also selling essential oils. And I thought, okay, sure, they're liquid, they're easy to take and I started taking them after about two months of taking them and , they're liquid. So they're very, they're easy to take and they taste like water.
Even though I hate taking supplements in general with lots of pills, I'm just, I'm not good at that. These were really easy. So I kept taking them daily in my body. I seem to wake up in the morning and go, Oh I want my minerals, which was new. Anyway, after about two months, I went to my dentist and I had my teeth cleaned.
There was very little sensitivity, which usually there was a lot. There was very little bleeding, or I think there was really no bleeding. And when the, Dentist came to look in my mouth. She was really surprised and she's like, what's happened? Because the PH in your mouth [00:05:00] is completely different. The tissues look you know, pink and healthy rather than red and inflamed.
And the pockets are starting to come back up. to look to smaller numbers. What are you doing? And I was like, huh, you know, I don't know, maybe, maybe it's these minerals I'm taking. So she was like, great, we'll just keep on taking them. About four months in, I did my adrenal test. I've been working with a particular naturopath with all sorts of different potions and herbal remedies, et cetera.
But at my last appointment, she was like, we really need to make a shift here. I want you to take hydrocortisone for a period of time. And I never filled the prescription, but when I went in, she looked at my results. She's like, Oh, wow. I think this hydrocortisone might really be working. I said, I never took that.
She's like, well, your adrenals are one third of the way up the chart. with their natural sawtooth pattern. And I was really surprised and super happy about that. That was [00:06:00] a substantial shift for my whole biome. So, and then over the space of about eight or nine months, I stopped getting my sinus infections, the inflammation in my gut cleared, and I just started to feel really good.
And. As a result, I was just left with this incredible curiosity about how these little cups of liquid could make such a difference when all these other doctors and practitioners and pills and potions and, you know, remedies had not made the difference.
Kellene: Well, I'm certainly grateful for the path that you're on and the passion that you have for it.
You have a mineral spray that I use on a regular basis when I get sluggish. You call it Happy Lights. I just, for our audience, you just take it and spray it on your face and voila, it makes you look glowing for a moment. And it, it does. It perks you up. There's also one for [00:07:00] pain that I use every once in a while.
I'll get a headache at the base of my neck and I spray the base of my neck and it goes away. It's wonderful. So, I also use them on my dogs and my cat and don't get any complaints from them. They still fine and dandy. I care a lot about one dog in particular. Not that I don't love both of them, but one's 14 and I want to keep her as long as I can.
So let's understand minerals in the cells. So for our audience benefit there's more than 30 trillion cells in the body. And minerals are required in the life cycle of a cell and to function properly. And without them, the cells will struggle to complete basic functions. And one of the things that you've said on another interview I've heard you is that we tend to think of illness as something wrong with an organ or a system of the body.
But it's really something that's not. a symptom of depletion at the cellular level. Obviously crop causing the chronic health [00:08:00] issues like you've talked about. Let's talk about mineral depletion and what happens with that.
Caroline: Well, so with those 30, they're actually, now they say there's between 37 and 150 trillion cells in your body because they got stronger microbes, microscopes, so they could, okay.
All ourselves, which is really interesting to me. The geek, you know, but the thing you have to understand is that for your cells to function inside the cells, there are these energy generating units and they're called mitochondria and these little energy generating units generate almost all of the energy in your body.
And there are two things that fuel these mitochondria. One are amino acids, of which your body makes a lot of them. You do have to get some from your food, but your body does make a lot. The other is minerals. Without those two cofactors, they're [00:09:00] called your mitochondria that are inside your cells will not be able to generate enough energy to fuel all the functions in your body.
So what happens when your body doesn't have enough energy, it has to pick and choose. So it says, well, we're going to keep the heart pumping. Definitely. We're going to keep the blood moving around the muscles in your veins and you know, and your heart and your lungs going and we're going to make sure you can see that your eyes are working properly and you're that you're hearing, you know, it's going to pick and choose the most important things, but things like hair.
Nails even, you know, a certain amount of inflammation throughout your body. It's just going to say, well, I'm just going to keep it at a low level of inflammation. I'm not going to be because I don't have enough energy available to clear it all. So what happens over a lifetime, you know, you start out as a young person or a young baby actually made from the minerals that were pulled [00:10:00] from your mother's body.
Bye. So you've got a lot of minerals in your body and you're getting a lot of minerals from the mother's milk and then slowly as you grow and you start drinking bottled water and you start eating from our food supply, which is depleted of minerals is much less nutrient dense than it was during our grandfather's time.
Over a lifetime, you get more and more and more deficient if you don't learn how to properly replenish these mineral stores in your body. Now, the sad thing is, you know, I'm a big believer in food as medicine, for those people out there who say we should be able to get everything from our food, but the sad fact is we cannot get enough minerals from the foods we eat anymore.
You would have to eat so much that there's no way you could do it. There's absolutely, they say the scientists that I've spoken with say to get the same nutrient density from an apple that your grandfather [00:11:00] ate, you'd have to eat six or seven apples. Some people say eight or nine apples today. So that's how nutrient deficient our food is.
Why is that? So when a plant grows in the soil, the way that it creates all of its structure, whether it's a tiny little pea shoot or a huge redwood tree, is that it pulls the minerals from the soil. If you look around your room, all the structure that you're seeing, the chair you're sitting on, the table, the books behind you, everything, all of the structure in the world is made of minerals.
Including your body, all of the structural elements of your body is made of minerals. If you took all the water out of your body, you'd be a little pile of minerals. So what we have to recognize is that to fuel. So there's kind of two important conceptual ideas here.
One is that minerals are the structural [00:12:00] element of everything in my body. And second of all, they are the fuel for almost all of the energy generated in my body. So if you have a fire in your fireplace, you have to keep adding logs, you know, now we all have gas fireplaces, but you know, in the past you'd have to put a log on, you know, and it's the same with those mitochondria, you know, to understand the scale of this, if you have, you know, 37 to 150 trillion cells in your body.
On the back of my hand right here, In one single cell, there's maybe 200 mitochondria, just in one single cell. And in my heart, in one single cell, there's 5, 000 mitochondria. That's how much energy it takes to keep your heart pumping all the time. Now in your brain, in a single neuron, a cell in a single neuron in your brain, up to 2 million mitochondria.
In a single, [00:13:00] you see, so the amount of energy that the body is producing constantly to keep me, at moment by moment to keep me thinking, being able to speak. I mean, the words that are coming on out of my mouth happened a long time ago in my brain, you know, and now they're coming out of my mouth.
So this, all the energy that's required is fueled by these Minerals and amino acids in the mitochondria Okay, so the problem is that because most of us are deficient I mean substantially Deficient it's like if you're in a room right now And you look at your lamp or your ceiling light and imagine turning the dimmer down to about 40 That most of us are operating at about 40 Of the energy in our body.
So that's why we have You know, these chronic symptoms that our body [00:14:00] can't heal or clear. Because we don't have the substrate of energy production fuel available.
Kellene: that's a really strong case, obviously, for the need for minerals to energize our cells. I mean, there are only two components that our cells need for that energy, minerals being one of them, and we aren't getting it.
Our soil is depleted. And if it's not in the soil, it's not in your food, folks. Then obviously that makes for a good case for that. What's so unique about your minerals?
Caroline: So, here's the thing. Let's create a little conceptual framework here, okay? One of the things that happened to me as I was going down the rabbit hole and beginning to learn about why these little cups of these plant based minerals could have such an effect was I started looking at my body and understanding how it worked.
And one of the first things that happened is I suddenly realized that everything in my body is made of cells. [00:15:00] We tend to, you know, we've been taught to think about our body like, oh, I've got a brain and I've got a gut and I have a heart and I have lungs and I have a kid, have kidneys and I have a liver and I have skin and I have bones and I have connective tissues and I have, Thyroid and adrenals and you know, hormones and all.
And when we have a problem with one of those things, we go to a doctor who specializes in that. And that's, as a result, it's made us think of our body as parts and pieces. But actually our entire body is an ecosystem that's incredibly wise. And is has incredible technology that is driving every little tiny biosynthesis process, every building of tissue, every pumping of the heart.
I mean, it's all working in this incredible concert. So that's the first thing to recognize is that your body is a natural [00:16:00] ecosystem. Now. Most people think about their body like, okay, someone told me I need to take calcium. So I'm going to go buy a bottle of calcium and I'm going to take a pill every day.
And then I need, someone said, I need my electrolytes. So I'm going to go buy some electrolytes powders, and now I'm going to go. And maybe somebody said I need iodine because I'm having some thyroid issues. And maybe my blood sugar is struggling. So I need chromium. And then, you know, there's selenium and they're on, and there's about 17 or 22 minerals, essential minerals that your body needs in varying amounts.
So there are what we call the macro minerals, which are electrolytes. what we call electrolytes. And then there are micronutrients, which are a lot of minerals that you've probably never heard of that your body absolutely has to have, like molybdenum, vanadium, boron, you know, these are really important minerals that your body needs.
[00:17:00] Copper, you know, you've heard of copper, but did you know that your body needs it? Like, absolutely. The amazing thing is I've spent a lot of time in the aisles of health food stores, and I went talking to people, and people are there looking for their minerals, and they have a basket, and they've got six or seven bottles in there, and I'm thinking, oh, they're going to go home, and they're going to start taking these pills, and after a few weeks, they're going to go, I don't want to do that anymore, and maybe I won't take this one, and slowly those pill bottles end up in what I call the supplement graveyard.
It's that cupboard at home filled with all those bottles that you never wanted to take anymore, because he didn't really, you didn't feel the difference. So why is that? It's because ecosystems don't work like that. What we know about the human gut. Is that it's a lot like a forest when it's healthy, everything's in homeostasis.
That's [00:18:00] balance. It's a natural balance. There's enough water. There's nutrients in the soil. There's clear, clean air and clear, clean water. And the rains come in the proper timing so that things don't get too dried out, et cetera. Now, if you go and take a wheelbarrow of magnesium, which is the equivalent of taking a pill of magnesium that you bought at your health food store and taking that pill every day, it's like a wheelbarrow in your gut.
And you're going to pour a wheelbarrow of magnesium on the floor of that forest. And the plants in that area are not going to thrive. The body is going to say, okay, I've got a concentration, a high concentration of magnesium here, it's too much. And now it's going to go into elimination mode. So you're in the process of trying to get magnesium into your system and your body is saying, oh, there's too much I need to eliminate.
You see, so it's actually creating [00:19:00] imbalance in your body, which is not serving the purpose that you're wanting to create that you were wanting to create by taking that magnesium. So the beautiful thing is that Mother Nature actually provided a natural mineral replenishment technology for all cellular systems on Earth.
And it is these things we call humic. and fulvic. And these are plant based minerals. They are, they're not like go out in your garden, pull up the plants and grind them up kind of mineral, plant based minerals. There are minerals like that. And so you have to make sure that if some mineral product that you're taking says it's plant based you have to see, does it have fulvic and humic in it?
Because these are that natural technology that I'm going to explain to you. So It's a completely different modality and [00:20:00] conceptual framework for how to get minerals back into your body that actually uses the replenishment mechanisms that your body already has. So I've
Kellene: said a lot. That's great.
So help people understand the difference between the fulvic and the humic and colloidal minerals. Okay.
Caroline: First of all, colloidal minerals are minerals that have been extracted using hydrochloric acid. It's not a bad thing. It's just that they taste very bad. It's just not, it's not fun to ingest colloidal minerals.
. They're really hard to take every day. They're still, they still have humic and fulvic that are the ones that are extracted from humic or humate, or the other kinds of substances that have humic and fulvic in them, which we'll talk about. Let's talk about where they come from.
So, humic and fulvic come from the decomposition of freshwater plants, [00:21:00] only freshwater plants. So, they don't come if you're using colorella or spirulina, these are plants that are, or organisms that are from the sea from saltwater systems, and they don't have some of the capacities the humic and fulvic have.
But where do they come from? So imagine back when the dinosaurs lived, and there were rainforests all around the earth, and a meteor hit the earth, it hit the Yucatan, and it killed about 75 percent of all life on earth in a few hours. And all these rainforests around the earth died and decomposed.
And as they decomposed, they deposited different humic and fulvic, like heavy concentrations of humic and fulvic in different places around the earth. So in shilajit. It's a pasty black tar like substance in the British Isles. There's something called peat and it's [00:22:00] kind of a clumpy soil kind of material that's just found in certain areas.
In the Amazon basin. They are something called terra preta. It's a particular, very concentrated humic soil. And then in the southwest United States, which is where we get our material, there's something called humate, and it's a black crystalline substance. It's about 10 to 12 feet below the earth.
Most of these substances are below the earth. And they are, as a result, they're very concentrated. Okay. pure, they haven't had contact with modern pollutants, which makes them a really good source of minerals for the body.
And does the body absorb them differently than colloidal?
So it's not only, so there are so many types of minerals, okay.
Most colloidal minerals are different in that colloidal minerals are, it's really about an extraction process and there, and it is usually a humic material that is extracted from that you end up with colloidal [00:23:00] minerals. But most minerals that you buy in the grocery store or in the health food store are made, they're powders, and they're made with, made from rocks, shells, bones and salts.
Now, salt based minerals are very, they're easily absorbed, and we'll talk about those separately, but most of the other things, like the calciums the potassiums they're usually made from salt. Rocks, shells, or bones. Calcium, usually bones. The potassium is often from salts or from shells.
So it comes from lots of different materials, but the problem is that your body doesn't actually break those down very well. Okay. In the gut. So now we're jumping in, we have to understand how does, how do things actually get into your body? Like, remember those mitochondria are inside your cells. So that means these minerals have to get all the way from the outside of your body [00:24:00] into your gut.
They have to be broken down all the way to the size where they can be absorbed through the lining of your gut into your bloodstream. And then they have to be assimilated, it's called. They have to be transported into your cells. where then they can finally be utilized by the mitochondria. Now the problem with most supplements that we take is that they don't ever even, only about five, well actually, excuse me, about ten to twelve percent of what you put in through your mouth gets actually broken down to the component size, it's called ionic, to the component size where it can be absorbed through the lining of your gut.
Through your large small intestine. Okay, so this is a, this is an issue. And what happens is when I, we're constantly taking all these pills every day. We're, it's like that wheelbarrow thing. And your body is constantly trying to remove this excess. And most of it is only getting, most of it's [00:25:00] not ever getting broken down small enough to be absorbed.
And then, of course, we have the issue of people who have inflammation in the gut, so in the gut lining, so that means they have IBS, irritable bowel syndrome, or they have SIBO, or they have other Crohn's disease, different issues that affect the lining of the gut. So now they have fewer receptor sites in the lining of their gut.
So this is the problem. Most of it. never gets into your bloodstream at all. But let's say that 10 to 12 percent of it did get into your bloodstream. Well, that's all very well and good. And this is why I want to tell people, it's not useful to get a blood test to tell you what your mineral levels are.
because minerals don't do their job in your bloodstream. So you might have a fair amount of minerals in your bloodstream. What you need to know is how many minerals have actually gotten into your cells. And that means you have to actually [00:26:00] test. Intracellularly, and that's, there are particular tools we can talk about how to get tested.
Kellene: You talk about how after months you started experiencing this, and months you started experiencing this. When I first started taking your minerals, I was losing my hair all the time. And it was after three days I was washing my hair and I was like, wait a minute, I'll have the clump of hair on my hand.
Maybe it's just today. And the same thing happened the next shower and the next one. I was so shocked that that happened so quickly. What can people expect for their body to do to respond when taking the Beam minerals
Caroline: I going to notice a di of your body and people h of awareness. I didn't ac
But I had [00:27:00] just, you know, I'll take 'em every morning 'cause it was easy, but I didn't really notice any difference. I'm a very driven person, you know, just didn't notice it. But what I almost tell people is start noticing those chronic things like the hair coming out, like the status of your nails, like the status of your skin.
Is it? Starting to, you know, the shine start to come back to it. Or that energy slump that you have in the afternoon. Is it? Are you going? Wow, it's four o'clock and I'm still feeling energized, you know, that kind of thing. Or are you beginning to sleep? better having more deep sleep through the night.
These different things are there. It really depends on each person and what that deficiency has caused in their system. So when you have deficiency, The body, it's all the weak points that the body is going to struggle in. Right? And depending on your genetics, and your epigenetics, and your lifestyle, and [00:28:00] your diet, and all sorts of different factors, those points in your body are going to be, those weak spots in your body are going to be affected.
You know, so it really depends on each person. Some people don't feel anything and they, they contact us after a month and they're like, well, I don't really feel anything. We're like, okay, then stop. And then a week later, 10 days later, they're like, oh, it was the minerals. I actually, I, when they stopped, they suddenly feel the difference.
Because it's a very, this is a beautiful thing about using ecosystem tools. It's not like this. You have the, you impact, and then you have the effect. A lot of women are using magnesium for sleep or they're using magnesium for elimination if they struggle with elimination or they're struggling with sleep.
And it's true that if you take a lot of magnesium, it will have that kind of quick impact. And it might, it'll help you sleep or it'll help you eliminate, but [00:29:00] that's because it's an excess and your body is actually going into a process that's causing you to sleep or causing you eliminate because it's needing to get rid of that excess.
Okay. Ecosystem tools work in a very slow, gentle, continuous process to just generate enough energy in your body so that now your body can do those things that it could not, that didn't have enough energy to do in the past.
Kellene: So you talk about the ecosystem. I do a two part. Process every morning. I just chug a cap full of it.
I know some people mix it in water. But it does. It just tastes like water. There's no taste to it whatsoever. Why do you have the parts combined, the electrolytes and the minerals like you do?
Caroline: Yeah, so I always think so. So let's talk about what these two things do. So we have humic and we have fulvic.
[00:30:00] Let me describe what fulvic is. And then, and because it helps to understand them because then you realize that you have a tool that you can use in your life. Okay, so let's talk about fulvic first. Fulvic is a very, very small molecule. It's called a flavonoid. We, I'm sure people have heard that term.
What is a flavonoid? A flavonoid is an intercellular transporter. So the fulvic molecule carries in its, in, as part of its molecule, 70 plus minerals. And the beautiful thing about it is your cell linings, the way they work is a channel opens in the cell lining and something comes up to that cell opening, that lining opening, and the body says, is that something beneficial?
Oh yeah, that's fulvic. It recognizes fulvic as a beneficial substance, and that fulvic molecule gets carried through the cell lining into the cell. Now, then the Fulvic [00:31:00] molecule does something that no other molecule on Earth can do. It changes its polarity from positive to negative. So, or negative to positive, depending on what what form it's in at that moment.
And when it does that, it's like if you've ever seen a magnet, and there was like metal attached to it, and if you've seen it ever where somebody could turn the magnet off and those things fall off. And that's what happens. So all these nutritional elements it could be amino acids, it could be minerals, other nutritional elements could be attached to that molecule because of its strong electrical charge.
Then when it changes that charge, those things fall off and it's literally delivered those nutritional elements into the cell. Well, where mitochondria for energy generation. Now, It's in this opposite polarity, and now it travels around inside the cell and it [00:32:00] picks up the trash. It picks up the bio waste, the toxins, the heavy metals, the free radicals, the detritus from viruses.
Nanoplastics, glyphosate, and then the channel opens in the cell wall and it carries those out through the cell wall. And then it changes its polarity again and it drops those things off in the bloodstream. So this is a continual constant process of nutrients into the cell and biowaste and toxins out of the cell.
This is the natural technology that mother earth developed to support cellular life on this planet.
Kellene: Amazing.
Caroline: So that's the fulvic molecule. And you know, the scientists who I know who are the, they're really the world renowned scientists who study, have been studying fulvic and humic for years. They call [00:33:00] fulvic the God molecule, mainly because nobody can figure out how it changes its polarity.
It's unprecedented anywhere else in science that they know of. And you, when you study it, you get into quantum mechanics and quantum singularities. et cetera.
Kellene: So how do the two models then play into each other?
Caroline: So that fulvic molecule is our green bottle, which is called electrolyzed. This one.
This one is fulvic. So what this does is this boosts energy in the body. So when you use fulvic, what it's doing is providing extremely bioavailable nutritional elements directly into the cell. The beautiful thing about this is it's a, it's called ionic. It's an ionic liquid, which means everything in here is already at the component size.
ready for absorption. It any further breaking down through any [00:34:00] tissue, your esophagus. By the ti your body is already utili content that is in this e why your hair just over o body started going, wow, to keep these hair follic You see?
Kellene: Yeah.
Caroline: That's why, because this stuff is so easily assimilatable by the body.
So this becomes your tool if you have low energy, if you're a person who deals with deficiency, you know, like nails breaking, you know, hair loss, this is the first tool to go to, okay? The best first tool to go to. Okay, so the next thing we're going to talk about is the humic molecule. So the humic molecule is very different than fulvic.
And just so you know, they have a symbiotic relationship wherever one is, the other exists. So they're always [00:35:00] together. The humic molecule is very large relative to a cell. The way I like to describe it because it's something you can envision is like a Velcro ball. It's, it hangs out in your bloodstream, it's got a huge amount of surface area, and it's very, very sticky because it's one of the strongest electrolyte molecules known to man.
It literally just travels through your bloodstream, gathering bio waste, toxins, heavy metals. nanoplastics, spike proteins from viruses non beneficial bacteria, free radicals you name it, glyphosate. And it, what it does is it chemically binds with those elements, heavy metals. It's incredibly effective at binding with heavy metals.
At a certain point, this molecule, if you imagine that velcro ball, all these things are stuck to it, like that magnet again, and it [00:36:00] gets so heavy at a molecular weight that it falls out of solution. Like if you put something in your glass, like, and you stirred it up, it would look like it's dissolved. But then if you leave the glass for a while, things fall to the bottom of your glass.
And that's what happens with these molecules. It falls out of solution. And then it leaves your body through all of the elimination channels, which includes your tears, your snot, your sweat. Your saliva, your breath, even just rubbing your hands together, sloughing cells off the bottoms of your feet.
And of course your urine and feces. The beautiful thing is that because it uses every channel, it's just slowly, continually. removing toxins from your body every single day, every single moment of every single day. So this, the humic becomes this tool for detoxification, both in, in particular [00:37:00] situations, but continuous because we're constantly being impacted and exposed to glyphosate.
Lead all sorts of nanoplastics, all sorts of different and also illnesses, et cetera, viruses, et cetera. We want to have humic in our system because it's constantly removing those things and it's also creating an, a non beneficial environment for those for bacteria and for viruses. So it's really good for the immune system in general.
But let's say you go out and you have. You eat something bad at a restaurant and you're like, Ooh, that didn't feel good. So you go home and you take some more humic and that will clear it. You wake up and the next morning you're like, Oh, great, cool. No problem. Or maybe you drank some, had some glasses of wine with some friends.
You don't want to have a hangover in the morning. You use humic because this is the tool for removing those toxins and things from your body before they have the [00:38:00] impact on the liver. So two tools. Detoxification is the humic, like full system detoxification. And then the fulvic is about nutrient uptake and intercellular detoxification.
So taking things out of your tissue and depositing them in your bloodstream.
Kellene: Our audience is listening to this and I'm sure they're wondering, okay, it's great for me to take now, but will it be shelf stable? Can I stock up on it? With those being as ancient as they are, I would think that they're quite shelf stable, aren't they?
Caroline: They are, we put three year, a three year lifespan or, shelf life on our bottle. But one of the things that we tell people is, you know, these have been around 65 million years. All there is in our products is water. And minerals, that's it.
Kellene: So, share with me what got you to venture into the pet products, because I was [00:39:00] tickled pink when I saw that.
Caroline: Yeah, so, well people started asking us, you know, can I give this to my 13 year old dog, or my 12 year old cat, or whatever, and we were like, of course, absolutely. But one of the things about, the main reason we created the pet products, is that You really want your pet to take all of them.
So you don't really want to put them in your water in the pet's water. What you want to do is put it on their food. So we just created slightly stronger concentrations with dropper bottles. So you could just take the dropper and you could put it. And just so I wanna be clear that these aren't concentrated, like, put through a concentrator.
They're just the stronger version of our extraction process. One of the things I like people to understand is that mineral supplementation, that's a concentration is less powerful because when you concentrate a, mineral product, you lower the electrolyte value or charge value. So you [00:40:00] want to, it's better to take things that are not concentrated.
Kellene: Yeah. It's better to gently talk to the cell rather than yelling at it.
Caroline: I like that. That's a good, that's a good analogy. I liked it.
Kellene: So you're on a deserted Island. What's the one product that you have that you just have to take with you?
Caroline: Oh, definitely our micro boost.
That's my okay. Well, I guess if you're on an island, it might be easier to take our capsules, but then it would be a pill.
Kellene: So yeah, now that's important to note, though, because people who travel taking the bottles of the minerals is a hefty inconvenience, but you have them in capsule form.
Caroline: Yes, and we also do have small travel packs that are just 3. 6 ounce bottles, so you can take them on the airplane. So we, we have a travel pack that's available for travel, but the, for people who travel a lot, they usually end up taking the capsules.
The thing I want to clarify for people is, one of the things about humic and this, [00:41:00] our capsules are basically the humate material that we took from the ground in a capsule. Put into a capsule. So it has humic and fulvic in it. The thing for people who are sensitive and that means let's say somebody who's had Lyme's disease, somebody who has autoimmune like me, somebody who has had mold exposure like me, somebody who has had long COVID like me.
So before I had COVID, I never had any, I never got any detox symptoms from, I could just take a cap full of microboost and quit. Take it, just shoot it. But now I have to put it in a glass of water. So I put it in this big glass of water every day and I drink that. I just set it on my desk. I drink it through the day and then I don't get any detox symptoms.
When you're first starting to use humic, which is our micro boost product, the blue bottle, you just want to start slow. And on the back of our bottles, we have a little QR code that [00:42:00] you can just scan and it'll give you all this information so you don't have to remember it. You just scan the code and it will take you to the product detail and it'll talk to you if you're about how to do it.
If you're a sensitive person.
Kellene: Okay, last question. What's the biggest myth that you would like to dispel about minerals?
Caroline: The biggest myth that I would like to dispel about minerals is that salt based electrolytes salt based electrolytes are not good for the body. And so many people are using salt based electrolytes, powders, drinks, and, The thing that I really want people to understand is your digestive tract is a freshwater system and when you put salts in your body like that in large amounts every day, what happens is your body has to eliminate that.
So now you start urinating more and now you're actually flushing your system rather than replenishing. [00:43:00] I would really tell people to start thinking hard, long and hard about the salt based electrolytes they're using and whether they're truly serving their purpose.
Kellene: Wonderful. Well, those are folks who are listening.
Beam minerals is where you want to go to snag her products. If you put in the coupon code prep pro, you'll save 20 percent on her product. She's being very generous with that. So again, that's beam minerals. Caroline, thank you so much for joining us. I, I found it fascinating.
